October 19, 2014 Redecoration COMPLETE!

In early September, Dan and I hired Kirsten from Treasure in the Detail to help us redecorate our entire downstairs: kitchen/dining/family room. You can see the before pictures here. Our remodel is complete! Let me share the amazing transformation and completed project with you.
Paint colors were first selected in shades of blue and cream. Painting soon commenced. The team Kirsten recommended was fabulous and fast! I've kept their # on speed dial for future projects.
We've wanted a seating area in front of this window since the day we moved in but never put the plan to action. Our desire was to create someplace cozy for a cup of tea and a good book. Kristen more than delivered with this comfortable relaxing nook!
Next to the chairs you will find this piece which covertly hides the Apprentice Adult's school backpack, shoes and other miscellaneous items needed on a daily basis for life in high school.
Kirsten truly does delve into the details: for as long as we've been together, Dan has wanted a horse in the house. Kirsten found the perfect decoration to satisfy his yearning and she found the most amazing camera for me! To boot, she surprised us with the handmade art documenting the year of our wedding. A truly sweet touch.

All these details warmed our hearts and delighted us. In such a short time she was able to get to know us and turn our home into a personalized haven.
Finally, this gallery wrap wall is something I've dreamed of for a long time but never could figure out how to put it together... despite knowing which pictures I wanted to include! It is perfect; I love it!
Our first furniture find with Kirsten was the TV console. A delightful change from our ikea table and towers. I love the white space created above this single unit without the towering side shelves.
The coffee table is another fabulous find! It has storage for remotes and the board games we love to play with company. The Apprentice Adult was delighted to have a (less smelly but just as comfy) replacement chair to lounge on when we watch TV together (like tonight's America's Funniest Home Videos).
Dan found and fell in love with the kitchen table... after moving furniture around at the store, I fell in love with it too. (Kirsten helped us find the perfect chairs!) We found minimalist industrial stools for under the counter... to prevent me from stacking papers and bags on them.
The table has amazing visual and physical texture (which is why Dan fell immediately in love with it!).
I love the jar lights: What can I say? I'm a sucker for some pretty light!
Next up, the kitchen! Every day, the counter would become a catch all for papers, backpacks, receipts, books and any other miscellaneous stuff that didn't have a defined home.
Kirsten gave us actionable and workable solutions to create an empty counter with homes for the miscellaneous stuff that accumulates daily.
It's been so much easier to keep clean since her recommendations and efforts have been in place.
I'll admit, I can take a decent picture, but decorating my home and tying multiple designs together? Not my forte at all! Kirsten's creative touch made me fall in love with my kitchen all over again.
Each decorative detail was picked with care and fits with who Dan and I are.
We removed the shutters from the kitchen window and I am LOVING the extra light. Delicious! These little succulents have found a perfect home.
Finally, the entry way from the garage was updated with fresh paint and wall storage for all the paper and mail that accumulates during the week. It's so nice to have a 'home' for those miscellaneous papers that need semi-immediate action. This solution is right at hand, a bit hidden from the rest of the room and yet another brilliant idea from Kirsten that is functioning perfectly for us.

Kirsten exceeded our expectations and turned our house into a warm, inviting haven for peaceful respite from the hustle and stress of the world. We are so pleased, thank you Kirsten!!!
