12/13/10 Christmas Music

Christmas Music should be played only two times a year: The middle of July while finally scrapping the previous years Christmas pictures and anytime between Thanksgiving and New Years Day. That's it. October? TOO EARLY for Christmas music!

With that being said, there are a few tunes I just CAN'T live without once the holiday season hits.
Mercy Me is a total stable at Christmas and has been since this album was released in (wow!) 2005. Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree and Silent Night are MUST HAVE in the playlist.

Nicole C. Mullen's Christmas in Black and White and Gifts from You are also must haves.

New to the playlist this year is Straight No Chaser. Even the boys are requesting this one! Lots of fun songs to pick from here:
The Christmas Can Can
Who Spiked the Eggnog
The 12 Days of Christmas
Even Donde Esta Santa Clause is growing on me!

Glee is also new to the playlist this year... but not so many GOTTA HAVE IT's from this album. However, I do really like Baby it's Cold Outside and We need a little Christmas

In a search for top Christmas songs on iTunes, I found Barlow Girl's Carol of the Bells (acoustic version)... and WOW does it just grab me! GORGEOUS song.

Finally, NO Christmas season is complete without The Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky. I love this rendition by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

What songs can YOU not live without? I'm always looking for new additions to the playlist!
